Thor 50/50 Boots - A Great Little Boot!By Grant DraperWhen Thor originally released their 50/50 motocross boots, there was some what of a mixed reaction. Some thought the boots were a joke where as others thought that they may be extremely practical - just not for motocross. Thor specializes in MX clothing and accessories, so are the Thor 50/50 Boots really for racing? Personally, I'd say the target market wasn't racers. Instead it is for people wanting a bit of protection when they are riding mini bikes, small quads or commuting to and from work. They cover all the major parts of both the leg and ankle. The Thor 50/50 Boots are actually extremely comfortable, so you get the benefit of comfort, but still the quality protection offered from a normal MX boot. What got me straight away when I tried a set on was how light they were. As the Thor 50/50 Boots use half the material of a conventional motocross boot, they weigh half as much, so it feels like a comfy shoe rather than a protective boot. This is mainly due to the fact that the medial area has extra padding, which protects both the ankle and leg from rubbing on the frame and exhaust. So basically, if you are looking for a product to mess about on a pit bike or small ATV, then the Thor 50/50 Boots are definitely the boots to have. As mentioned a short trip to work would be the ideal scenario for choosing these boots. On the other hand if you are looking for a protection boot for racing or riding full size boots, it might be a better idea to check out some of the boots listed on our website.
